Troubleshooting Guide
Tap a fault for likely causes, what to check on site, and when to call us out.
Likely causes
What to check
Measure feedwater conductivity against the nameplate range, and log kW draw versus setpoint over a full cycle.
When to call us
Conductivity dosing and electrode work are specialist tasks on a live HV vessel — do not attempt on site.
Likely causes
What to check
Isolate and log insulation resistance readings; look for tracking marks around the bushings.
When to call us
Immediately — repeated earth faults on an electrode boiler are a serious electrical hazard.
Likely causes
What to check
Compare make-up water metering against steam output to quantify the loss.
When to call us
When water and chemical costs rise without a matching production increase.
FAQ
No combustion means no flue, no emissions licence and no fuel storage — plus close to 99% energy conversion. They suit sites with clean-steam requirements or restricted combustion approvals, and can be run on off-peak tariffs.
Conductivity typically has to sit in a controlled band (often 200–400 µS/cm). Too low and the boiler cannot reach load; too high and it overloads. We manage dosing, blowdown and testing under contract.
Typically 5–10 years depending on water treatment discipline and duty. We inspect them at each major service and report on remaining life before failure interrupts production.
